CHEN

The Warriors took a hit last night playing the CHEN Bravehearts. The game was physical and the officiating left the fans frustrated...but our girls showed that they were the ones with the brave hearts. The final score was CHEN 39, Warriors 29. Even though ten points seems to be a big margin, the Warriors never gave up the fight. They played hard and continued to pound the boards. Everyone got playing time and everyone played hard. Rebecca Reifsnider had 2 assists, 5 blocks and 11 rebounds. Charity Poole and Sarah Reifsnider also grabbed 7 and 6 rebounds respectively. Sarah also had 2 assists. Elizabeth Catoe who took a hard blow to the stomach had 2 blocks. Practice resumes tonight and the Warriors move on to the next challenge which comes after the holiday.

Leading scorers were John Koffman and Chris Lamont, each with 8 points. Other scorers included Daniel Passarelli (5), Jonathan Kiewit (4), Josiah Carstens (2), and Nathan Williams (2). Carroll Christian

The Lady Warriors headed to Carroll Christian on Monday night to take on the Patriots. The Patriots always promise a tough match and Monday night's games were no different. The Middle School team took the court first. Somewhere in the middle of the 3rd quarter, they found themselves down by as much as ten points. With determination and Warrior strength they managed to come back and win the game by one point. Emily Passarelli and Maggie Quick both nabbed 4 steals each. Maggie led the team in rebounding with a total of 9 combined offensive and defensive rebounds. Emily Matthews pulled in 17 points for the Lady Warriors. Kathryn Romanchuk, Joanna Hughes and Jackie Lamont both added to the win with their rebounding and fierce play. The final score was 33-34. Way to go ladies.

The Varsity girls had their match up next. They played hard and worked tirelessly throughout the game. Again, this was another nail biter. Each girl gave their all as they pounded the boards and grabbed rebounds. The final score was Carroll Christian 37 - Warriors 36. Great game Lady Warriors.

Special thanks to DJ Matthews for taking pictures during the Middle School game. Great job DJ!!
The Varsity team will compete in a tournament at St. Maria Goretti this Friday. Tip off is scheduled for 7:45. Go Warriors!

Ashburn, VA

Monday night the Warriors trekked to Ashburn, VA to take on the Catamounts. The middle school boys and girls each had their season opener. The varsity embarked on their third game. All three teams picked up wins on Thursday, making the ride home enjoyable (right parents!?) The high scorer for the boys was Chris Lamont. Christopher Leao, John Koffman, Jonathan Kiewit, and Nathan Williams all put up baskets to add to the final score. The boys all played strong and made a great first showing!

The Middle School girls captured their first victory with a score of 36-8. Every girl contributed to that win!

The varsity girls final score was 33 to 25. Rebecca Reifsnider had 4 blocks and 17 rebounds. Liz Catoe united the team with her 6 assists.

Congratulations to all our Warriors! Job well done. Tonight the Warriors take on Carroll Christian in Westminster.
