The Warriors headed up to Erie, PA for the NCSAA tournament which would last through Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. After heading up early Wednesday to do some sight-seeing at Lake Erie, the players headed over to the gyms to have some "practice" for the night before the games the next morning starting at 10:30am for the guys. The guys did well, claiming a great win against the Seeds of Faith. Unfortunately, Toby took a fall in the first quarter which resulted in a terrible ankle injury. After going to urgent care, we found out it was a very severe sprain and he was put on crutches. The girls game was at 3pm, and as they were playing the number 2 seed in the tournament, it was a rough game but the girls were happy they got 21 points at the end of the game. Unfortunately, many of the players were feeling bad over the whole tournament, leaving many people very weak and without an appetite. The next days games started at 9am with the guys playing Cumberland Valley. The guys played good defense but had an off shooting game, so Cumberland came away with a 15-point win. The girls played next at 10:30am and showed excellent defense resulting in a big win to place them in the championship for division 4 the next day. That afternoon both teams scouted games with teams they would be playing and then headed to church for the guys second game of the day vs. the Blue Mountain Defenders. They guys played well, coming away with another great win. After the game everyone headed to the courts for the pointguard skills and 3-point competitions. Although none of the Warriors entered the skills competition, Amanda and Daniel participated in the 3-point competition. Both of them did well, Amanda came in 2nd place and Daniel did well hitting 13 three's. Saturday morning everyone was up early for the 9am championship game for the girls. The girls played excellent, playing very tight defense and showing great teamwork in the offense. They won the division 4 championship with the final score of 40-15. The guys played at 10:30am for their championship against Cumberland Valley. It was a very exciting game, the score being close the entire time. The guys showed calm offense, setting up the plays and getting some great shots as well as great defense which resulted in many steals. They pulled out a great win of 57-52, claiming the division 4c championship. With both teams coming home in first place, it was a great tournament, everyone showing great Godly character and having lots of fun being together like family. Great tournament Warriors!
