The varsity girls were prepared to play a hard game against the Adams County Christian Academy Rams. After beating them earlier in the season, the Warriors knew the Rams would be determined to win. This proved to be true, because from tip off to the final buzzer, the Rams gave the Warriors a run for their money. The first quarter showed the Warriors fouling consistently, many of the girls having 2 to 4 fouls at the end of the half. The girls tried to run the plays, but the small, crammed court and the Ram's man-to-man defense threw them off. Unfortunately, 4 of the starters fouled out by the end of the game, resulting in a very tough loss of 42-33. Though a unexpected loss, the ladies knew the next game against ACCA on Senior night would hopefully be sweet redemption to make up for the loss. A quick congrats to Tabitha Leaman for scoring her first varsity basket during the game! As Coach Ortner is regaining his strength, he was able to come to the game to cheer the girls on. Everyone is so glad and excited at his quick and continued recovery.

Mountain View Christian Academy (VG)
After almost a week-long break for the varsity girls, the Warriors made the trek down the Winchester, Virginia, for a triple-header agaisn't Mountain View Christian Academy. After witnessing a sound victory for the middle school boys, the Warrior ladies took the court. It was very good to have Emily Passarelli back in the game, as her ankle was healing. They were ready to play what they felt might be the most physical game they had played all season. MVCA had a huge size advantage and were very aggresive, but our ladies were tough and didn't let the size advantage get to them too much. The Warriors pulled down rebounds, and were able to steal the ball several times. For the first time this season, the Warriors led almost the entire game!
Despite the man-to-man defense MVCA threw at the them, the Warriors kept their cool and got back into their rhythm. Their zone defense was very effective, and forced Mountain View to shoot mainly outside shots. With only three nail-biting minutes remaining, the Warriors tried to simply burn time because MVCA was only a point or two away at times. During those three minutes, the Warriors were able to increase the gap thanks to foul trouble from Mountain View, which was in the bonus for most of the 4th quarter. As the last buzzer sounded and the scoreboard read "Mountain View: 23 - Guest: 25" the Warriors were overjoyed with a victory. Great game ladies!

Frederick Christian Academy (VG)
All the Warrior ladies were more than ready to play Frederick Chrisitan Academy for a rematch. Despite their loss the first game, the Warriors were confident it would be a good game and hoped to pull off a win. Unfortunately, several things stacked up agaisnt the Warriors, and they weren't able to pull off a win in the end. In the very first minute of the game, Emily Passarelli suffered an ankle injury while going for a rebound and was unable to play for the remaineder of the game. However, the ladies on the court really appreciated her encouragement throughout the game. The Warriors played tough despite a physical game down low. The Warriors offense was effective throughout the first half, leaving the ladies up 13-11 at halftime. In the third quarter the Warriors loss some intensity and lost authority under the basket, letting FCA take the lead. During the last 8 minutes of the game, the Warriors struggled to make up their deficit, but were unable, leaving the final score 33-21. Everyone was disappointed, but this loss just made them more determined to win their next game agaisnt Mountain View Christian Academy the next week.

Carlisle Christian Academy (VG)
For the Warrior ladies first game of the season, they took on the Carlisle Christian Academy Crusaders. From the very start of the game, the Crusaders played a 1-3-1 press, which the Warriors were successfully break from the start. Which proves practice really does help! :) Unfortunately, the Crusaders shot couldn't miss, and our ladies shot just wouldn't drop. That put the Crusaders up at halftime with the score of 28-12.
Going into the second half, the Warriors threw a box-in-one defense on the Crusaders, which proved very successful. It completely shut down their best player to only 3 points in the 2nd half, compared to her 13 points in the 1st half. During the entire fourth quarter, the Crusaders scored only a few points thanks to the Warrios tight defense. The Warriors scoring improved in the 2nd half, but wasn't enough to close the large gap created in the first half. The game ended with a Crusader win of 48-27. Each player played her best, but most importantly, every player got time on the court.

Grace Academy (VG)
Coming back after a holiday break, the Warrior girls were more than ready to play the Grace Academy Knights. All the girls were so thankful for the willingness and commitment of Coach Pefley in stepping up to the coaching plate, and the assistance of Mary Barrows. The ladies wanted to play their hardest for Coach Ortner, who was still recovering in the hospital. All the girls wore matching socks saying, "You think were kidding...get well soon Coach! Phil. 4:13".
From the tip-off to the end of the 3rd quarter, the Warriors struggled agaisnt the Knights tight defense and solid offense. However, as if a repeat of the 2010-2011 season, the fourth quarter proved to be the best for the Warriors. Things started to click, and they began a scoring streak, while at the same time holding the Knights to only 3 compared to the Warriors 18 points in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately the gap was just too large, the the Warriors lost 48-25. The ladies gave it their best and always showed Godly character.
