The Lady Varsity Warriors took on the Crossroad Cougars in Winchester on Monday night. The game was another win for the Lady Warriors. This makes 3 wins in a row for the Warriors. Rebecca Reifsnider scored her 1000th career point during the fourth quarter.
The 1000th point came on a foul shot and Rebecca was presented with a bouquet of balloons and a certificate documenting the momentous event.
The Warriors dominated the game from the beginning to the end. Every player logged significant playing time. Sarah Reifsnider, while playing outstanding defense, drew the first defensive charge of the year. Coach Barry is all ready to make good on a promise that the first player to take a charge would get dinner on him. Most likely, Sarah will be celebrating at Subway!!
Liz lead the team in steals with 4 nabs for the night. Maggie Quick pulled down 10 rebounds and Rebecca pulled in 8 for the night.
The Warriors outscored the Cougars 46-12.
The Middle School Boys took the court second and they played another great game Monday night against Crossroads Christian Academy. They led from start to finish with the final score 40-24.
This was another game that allowed the younger players to get a lot of court time. The Warriors started fast, racing to a 14-6 first quarter lead and then a 20-8 halftime advantage. The boys didn’t let down in the second half, taking a 26-14 margin into the fourth quarter. The scoring was spread out among 9 players with John Koffman leading with 10 points. Christopher Leao (7) and Chris Lamont (6) followed. Other scorers included Josiah Carstens and Jacob Hughes each with 4, Daniel Passarelli (3), and Caleb Abel, Benjamin Passarelli (his first points of the season), and Nathan Wright each scoring 2.
The 10-0 boys next take on the Front Royal Flames (another homeschooling team) on February 17.
Special thanks to Emily Passarelli for taking pictures during the boys game! Thanks Emily!!!
