New Life

It was a middle school double header on Friday Night at New Life Christian School in Frederick. The Middle School girls took the court first. For a lot of the girls this was "the big game" of the season. They took to the court a bit nervously and not really sure what to expect but they played as a team and ran their plays with more success than ever. Each girl got to play 2 full quarters. Emily Passarelli led the scoreboard with 8 points and Maggie Quick was right behind her with 7.

Kathryn Romanchuk and Emily Matthews both contributed 4 points. "Defense wins the game", is Coach Quick's philosophy and with that in mind...Maggie had 9 rebounds. Emily Passarelli had 6 rebounds and Kathryn Romanchuk pulled down 4 rebounds. Mckenzie Quick grabbed her first rebound of the year.

Emily Matthews led the team in steals, followed by Emily Passarelli and Jackie Lamont with 3. The final score was Warriors 21, Rams 8.

Part two of the double header was the Warriors Middle School boys team. The Warriors boy’s team continues to improve each time it takes the court. They are now 4-0 with a win against New Life Christian School 27-9.

The game started slowly, with the Warriors leading 4-0 after the first quarter.

Then they warmed up and went into the locker room at halftime with the score 13-2. The boys continued to play strong in the third (leading 19-6) and fourth quarters for the win. Everyone contributed to the victory with a balanced offense combined with an aggressive defense.

Scoring was spread out among 6 players with Josiah Carstens leading the team with 7 points, Chris Lamont and Christopher Leao each put in 6, Jacob Hughes scored 4, and Caleb Abel and Daniel Passarelli each added 2.

They face New Life again on January 26 and they’re anticipating a much closer score as New Life was very cold from the floor. The boys will have their work cut out for them if they want another win! Our next game is against Grace Academy (Hagerstown, MD) on January 20.
