Last year, the Middle School Girls squeaked out a win against Carroll Christian with a one point victory over the Patriots. This year, was quite a different story. The Warriors took to the hardwood ready to play hard against the Patriots. At the end of the first quarter, the Warriors were leading 7 to 2. Early fouls by the Patriots gave the Warriors the opportunity for 5 shots from the charity stripe. Only one of those was converted into points.
At the end of the first half the Warriors went into the locker room with a lead of 10 points. The Patriots never led in the game. They were outscored every quarter. The Warriors passed well and looked down the court for open opportunities.
The Lady Warriors protected the ball well and played tough defense. Every Warrior got to play and every Warrior gave it their all. It was a solid win with the final score being 27 to 17 in favor of the Warriors.
Kirsten Blickenstaff led the team in rebounds with 7 for the night. Joanna Hughes had 4 blocks for the night and Kathryn Romanchuk was right behind her with 3 rejections. Jackie Lamont had 3 steals and Joanna Hughes, Kirsten Blickenstaff and Michaela Joannides each stole the ball twice during the game.
