Fairfax - MSB
The Warriors MS Boys team played their final game Friday night, ending the season victoriously, with a 14-2 record. They traveled to Fairfax with the opportunity to avenge one of the two losses on the season, to the Kings. This match-up was officially a "scrimmage," as it was arranged last-minute, with dads officiating. This time around brought a different outcome, as the Warriors' passing game, tenacious defense, and strong rebounding, proved too much for the Kings. A two-point defeat in early December (27-25) with a tight six-man rotation turned into a 17-point victory in late February with all Warriors playing and contributing. The final score was 50-33.
The Warriors showed tremendous growth over the season. It is worth noting that the Warriors improved their scoring average by almost nine points per game from the first half of the season to the second. They also improved their rebounding, assists, and steals averages, and free-throw percentage, significantly. And the Warriors grew as a team!
More than that, we pray that our young men would grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Let's continue to encourage them that, just as every member of the team is important, every member of the body of Christ has a vital part to play in the work He has for us. All praise and glory go to God! Thank God for a great season!
