Pool Play: round three vs. GCAA Stallions

 The Lady Warriors took on the Stallions with a 4:00 tip time.  Both teams competed with heart.  The Warriors had a tough night ending up with 5 injuries. 

 Rebecca Reifsnider took a hard hit to the neck and head area...(no foul called), Maggie Quick was wiped out under the basket and hit her shoulder....(no foul called).  Sarah Reifsnider jammed her finger on the ball.  Liz Catoe fell during a trap and twisted her ankle and Rachel Joannides hurt her shoulder on a loose ball rebounding play...(no foul was called).

 The Warriors played tough and never gave up, despite the injuries.  Coach Barry gathered the girls during a time out for prayer.  He prayed protection over them and healing for those that had gotten hurt.  It was a powerful moment in the game.

 When action resumed, the Warriors continued to play hard scrapping for every possession.   Rachel Joannides led the team in rebounds with 14.  Rebecca Reifsnider, who fouled out in the third quarter, had 8 rebounds and Kathryn Romanchuk had 5.  Liz Catoe led the team in assists with 4.  Charity Poole led the team with 4 steals.  The final score was 28 to 44 with the Stallions winning over the Warriors. 

  to note: after the game the girls found out that they were place in division 2a as the #2 seed.  They play Thursday night at 10pm in the semi-final round.  (If you're reading this before that time...please pray for the girls to honor Christ and play to their best ability as they compete to move on to the tournament Championship for their division...thanks!)
