After a big win from the middleschool boys the game before, the varsity guys were pumped and ready for their turn to take on the Carroll Christian Academy Patriots. The game started tense, the Warriors leaving gaps in their man-to-man defense which made the teams comparable. But in the second quarter Coach Ron called a timeout and switched to a zone defense. The rest was history. The Warriors took immediate control, though the Patriots kept it close enough for the starters to play most of the game. The guys played excellent, the teamwork and aggressiveness we've been looking for the past few games shining through. All the Warriors got to play, leaving the final score 62-55.
Daniel Passarelli led the team with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Following him was Josiah Carstens with 13 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, and a block. Right behind him was Toby McGrath having 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. Joel Kehr came next with 9 points, 5 assists, and 2 boards. Jonathan Pefley scored 6 points, 11 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block.
The guys got back on a winning streak, playing a great game and showing great teamwork. Awesome job guys!
