After waiting 45 minutes after game tip-off time for the referees to show up, the Warriors were excited and ready to play, for this was the first basketball game ever for 5 out of the 6 Warriors.
The Warriors started slow, but as time went on the girls did better. But Carlisle had taller and more experienced players and the Warriors found themselves trailing the entire game.
Each player contributed greatly to the game. Arminda Barrows and Ana Flynn led the team in rebounds, pulling down 6 each; with Bethany Carstens (4) and Lydia Flynn (2) also crashing the boards. Lydia led the team with 4 points, with Tabitha Leaman and Arminda both with 2, and Ana and Bethany both with 1. Tabitha and Ana led the team in assists, each dishing out 1. Ana also led the team with 2 steals, with Bethany and Lydia both nabbing 1.
The Warriors didn’t end up on top but they worked their hardest and never gave up. Great job girls!
