On December 1, the Boys Varsity team played the CHEN Chargers in Halethorpe, MD. The Chargers were a very strong team with a definite height advantage over the Warriors. Everyone on the Warriors team came to play, evidenced by some good performances from the starters and the bench. However, the CHEN Chargers won the game 75-32.
Samuel Pritt played well early underneath, pulling down three rebounds to show that the Warriors were willing to fight for the rebounds. Ben Cook had a strong game off the bench, making several strong drives to the basket, drawing fouls, and making several lay-ups against a strong inside presence of the Chargers, ending up with a team-high 16 points. Christopher Leao made several clutch shots, going 2-for-2 on inside jump-shots and going 2-for-2 from the foul line to end up with 6 points. In addition to scoring 5 points, three from the foul line, Benjamin Carstens blocked three shots. Josiah Carstens added 4 points to the scoring and Matt Kelly added a point from the foul line.
We are asking your prayers for healing for both Matt Kelly and Jacob Hughes. Matt Kelly had back pain prior to the game which limited his playing time and Jacob was slightly injured during the game which required him to rest a bit. These injuries did give the bench players more of an opportunity to step up and they played well.

The team is definitely improving every game. The players are doing much better covering zone defense.
