There were three games going on at the same time in Fairfax and if you didn't get a seat early, you'd have missed the Middle school girl's game. There were no fouls called the entire game. Plenty of jump balls however kept the referee blowing his whistle. But, with only one ref running the entire game, things tended to go pretty fast.
The Warriors got up right from the beginning and never lost their lead. Kathryn Romanchuk had 2 blocks on the night and 5 rebounds. Joanna led the team with five steals and 6 rebounds. Other girls with steals for the night, included, Jackie Lamont, Emily Matthews, Mckenzie Quick, Kirsten Blickenstaff and Michaela Joannides.....all thieves. All the girls got substantial playing time and this game was a great game for building confidences.
The Middle School Girls are still working on learning their plays and positions and this game gave them an opportunity for more time to hone their skills. Great job girls on a game well played! The final score was the Warriors 20 and the Firebirds 8.
