Adams County Christian Academy: Senior Night

For Senior Night, the Warriors hosted games against the Adams County Christian Academy Rams. The varisty girls kicked off the night's games for the Warriors. After Ashley Kelly, the varsity girl's only senior, was honored with flowers from her parents, the Warrior's senior night began. This game proved to be quite different from the last one the Warriors played. They came off the court with a win of blank to blank, just shy of the 50 points the girls wanted to score especially for Coach Ortner, who had just received his doctor's permission to start coaching again! The ladies played to win. By the end of the first quarter, the Warriors already had a good lead on the Rams. Going into the second quarter, however, the ladies slacked off, letting the Rams to close the gap on the scoreboard. The second half saw the ladies pick up their game back up, ending the game with a final score at 44-32. A special shout-out to Ashley Kelly, whose defense against one of the Ram's best players kept her to only 5 points, compared to her normal spot of being the highscorer for her team. The girls were so thankful for each of their coaches, and that they won their Senior Night game!
The varsity boys were next and headed right into their third game agaisn't Adams County Christian Academy for the season. They were all looking for a big win for the two seniors, Toby McGrath and Jason Kehr. The game started quite slow. Each team not scoring much and putting the score to 8-10 with ACCA in the lead at the end of the first quarter. But to start the second quarter, the guys snapped out of whatever was holding them back and played like how we have seen so often. After that the rest of the game was history, the Warriors dominating in every area of the game. Each player got a lot of playing time and ended the game with a win of 69 to 47.
Toby McGrath led the team with double-double of 21 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals, and 2 blocks. Following him was Daniel Passarelli with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal. Right behind him was Joel Kehr with 12 points, 2 assists, 3 steals, and a board. Chris Leao scored 10 points along with 4 rebounds and a block. Josiah Carstens came next with 7 points, 3 assists, 3 steals, and a board. Jonathan Pefley had 4 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and a block. Jason Kehr had 7 assists, 5 steals, and a block. Zach Nelson contributed 5 rebounds and a steal. Michael Pefley had a basket.
After the games, everyone gathered to watch the senior's video clips to to listen to the Coaches talk about each senior. After that, everyone gathered around the seniors to bless and pray over them before closing out the night. In the end, it was a very successful senior night, both teams coming away with a win. Congradulations to Toby, Jason, and Ashley for graduating high school this year. Great games Warriors!
