After a shaking loss from the night before the lady Warriors headed west to Martinsburg, West Virginia, to face the Faith Christian Academy Falcons. The Falcons had a decided height advantage, with age and experience to back that up.
Faith took a fast lead and by the half had 24 to the Warriors 2 points. The girls did not let the score get to them, but instead cam out after halftime readier than ever. The Warriors shots finally got hot and they scored 19 points in the second half.
With our ladies making good passes, rebounding, setting up plays, all Coach Matthews could say was, "Keep doing what your doing!" The girls lost the game 37-27, but outscored the Falcons 13 to 2 in the fourth quarter. Although they faced another loss, the Warriors kept their heads high, and their attitudes in check.
Emma Matthews led the team with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and a steal. Emily Passarelli was behind her with 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Amanda Stewart had 3 points, 4 boards, 3 steals, and an assist. Abby Messinger had 2 points, 5 rebounds, and a block. Gabrielle Freese had 2 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Ashley Kelly contributed 2 steals, an assist, and a rebound.
It was definitely one of the best offensive games the ladies have played, with great execution in setting up and running plays. Great game ladies!
