Highland View Academy (VB)

The Frederick Warrior Varsity guys took on the Highland View Christian Academy Tartans JV Boys on Monday, in Hagerstown. As has often happened, the Warriors started by facing a deficit in the early going, trailing by four after one quarter. However, they found their footing and played even with Highland View in the second.
The Warriors forced the Tartans to work hard on defense with good quick passing around the perimeter and openings began to come. On defense, the Warriors' 2-3 zone tightened pushing the Tartans away from the basket and getting many stops. By the end of the three quarters, the Warriors had eliminated the four-point Tartan lead, and the score was tied at 34-34. The strong zone defense and good passing on offense wore down the Tartans and the Warriors pulled away the fourth for a 52-43 win.
John Koffman led all scorers with 20 points, 2 boards, 7 assists, and 4 steals. Daniel Passarelli added 9 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 3 steals. Chris Leao pitched in 8 points, 8 boards, 1 steal, and 1 block. Josiah Carstens scored 7 points with 2 assists. Toby McGrath added 4 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block. Joel Kehr scored 2 points with 1 assist. Jonathan Pefley scored 2 points, 3 boards, and 1 steal. Several other Warriors added to the rebound and steal totals.
Great team effort. Way to go Warriors! Keep playing for the Lord!
