The Warrior Varsity Boys met the Grace Academy Knights for the second time this season on Friday night. In the first affair, the Warriors came back from 16 down to edge the Knights by one point, 68-67. The meeting was a lower-scoring, tighter game throughout the early going. Every basket, rebound, and turnover were magnified. The Knights came out pressing from the get-go. The Warriors struggled and gave up a few turnovers.
The first and second quarters were back and forth with the Knights leading 10-8 and 19-16, respectively. Third quarter play saw the Knights get more aggresive on the offense end with more shots falling. The Warriors upped their output, as well, but not at the pace of the Knights. End of three: 36-28, Knights. The Warriors worked hard to stay in it during the final period , but the Knights did not let up, extending their lead to a 49-37 win.
Chris Leao and Josiah Carstens had 11 points each. Chris added 6 boards. Toby McGrath scored 7 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. John Koffman added 6 points, 5 assists, and 4 boards. Jonathan Pefley scored a bucket and grabbed 4 rebounds.
The Warriors demonstrated Godly character throughout, congratulating the Knights on a well-earned victory.
