Adams County Christian Academy (VB)

The Frederick Warriors Varsity Boys headed back to Gettysburg for a repeat of their opening night game against Adams County Christian Academy. Unlike opening night, ACCA was not missing their star player, John Mark Stiles (#5), who came up big with 28 points in this rematch. However, the Warriors came with their A-Game, also, and posted their highest point total of the season.
The game began very competitively, with the Warriors gaining a four-point advantage during the first quarter (18-14) and maintaining it to the half (36-32). The second half saw the Warriors extend their lead to 55-45 at the end of three quarters. However, during the final period, ACCA closed the gap, leading to a nail-biter down the stretch. In the end, the Warriors held on for a 71-69 win, despite going 7-for-22 from the free throw line.
Once again, as exciting as the game may have been, we are most proud of the Godly character and sportsmanship displayed on and off the court! Great effort!
Hats off to Alex Leao, who nearly pulled the double-double, with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Josiah Carstens launched true on seven 3s to come up with 23 points, 2 assists, and a steal. Toby McGrath did post a double-double, with 11 points, 12 boards, and a steal. Daniel Passarelli chipped in 10 points, 2 boards, and 5 assists. John Koffman contributed 3 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Jonathan Pefley had 2 points, 4 boards, 1 assist, and 2 blocks. Joel Kehr had 2 points, 2 assists, and a steal. Michael Pefley had 5 boards and an assist.
Warriors beware! This game was Senior Night for ACCA. Know that ACCA will come to Frederick for our Senior Night wanting nothing less than to return the favor and beat us.
