Senior Night:: Admas County Chrsitian Academy (VB)

The boys took to the hardwood next on Senior Night anticipating a good game against the Adams County Christian Academy Rams, who traveled to Frederick to meet the Warriors for Round 3 in this ongoing battle. The Warriors had pulled out two 2-point wins in Gettysburg against ACCA earlier in the season. Would the home court advantage help the Warriors the third time around? The Warriors had beaten ACCA two weeks earlier for their Senior Night. ACCA came ready to return the favor on the Warriors’ Senior Night.
The night started with the singing of the National Anthem; sung beautifully by Heidi, Abby, and Daniel Messinger. Then the game began.
The Warriors came out flat to start the game and ACCA jumped out to an 18-12 lead after one quarter. The Warriors were not ready to respond in the second, falling into a greater hole at the half, 30-21.
In the second half the Warriors realized that merely showing up was not sufficient. They began to fight back. The Warriors outscored ACCA in the third and fourth quarters and played great team ball. They pulled ahead, but only by a basket. With only one minute left, the Warriors lost their lead and fell short by 2 points, the final score being 54-52.

John Koffman led the team with 14 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and a block. Toby McGrath had 12 points and 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and a block. Daniel Passarelli had 12 points and a steal. Josiah Carstens had 6 assists. Chris Leao had 6 points and 6 boards. Alex Leao had 4 points, 4 boards, and an assist. Jonathan Pefley contributed 3 boards.
After the game all the fans and players honored Alex, our senior, by watching videos of him and hearing Coach Ron remark on his time with the Warriors. Before everyone left, the families, players, and coaches gathered to pray for Alex. Congratulations to him for finishing out his high school years!
It was a tough loss, but the Warriors showed Godly character through the whole game and the fans couldn’t have been prouder of them. Good job guys!
