The Warriors had been invited to play in New Life Christian School Ram’s homecoming games. The Varsity Ladies took the court after the middle school boys, anticipating a tough game against the powerful Rams; which included Liz Catoe, an old teammate of the girls.
From the start of the game it was clear that New Life controlled the floor, but the girls played with intensity and kept up a solid, challenging defense throughout the entire game. The score at halftime was 31-6.
New Life had older, better, faster, stronger, and more mature players, but that didn’t mean the Warriors played with less than a 100% effort. Though the scoreboard did not show it, the girls played some great all-around basketball. The final score was 61-11.
Emily Passarelli led the team with 6 points, 5 rebounds, and a block. Emma Matthews had 2 points, 2 steals, and a board. Amanda Stewart had 2 points, 1 steal, and a rebound. Ashley Kelly had 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and a block. Gabrielle Freese had 1 point, 5 rebounds, and a steal. Abby Messinger and Katey Altoff also contributed to the rebounds, having 6 and 3.
It was a rough game but the girls played hard, considering their competition. Great job ladies!
