The Warrior guys all drove down to Purcellville, Virginia, to take on the Loudoun County Patriots. The Patriots are another homeschooling team in the area, and are known for being a basketball powerhouse and a top competitor for the Warriors.
But the Warriors were there to play, and play hard. They got good rebounds, had many good shots, and played tight defense. They stayed with the Patriots the whole 1st quarter, trailing only by the score of 19-15.
The 2nd quarter saw the Warriors defense and unselfish offense keeping the Patriots from taking too much of a lead; leaving the score 38-24 at the end of the half.
In the 3rd quarter, though, the Patriots picked up their game, getting many steals and getting the ball to the open man, stretching the lead to 60-35. The Warriors never gave up, but the good defense of the Patriots kept them from making a comeback. The final score was 70-41.
Chris Leao led the team with 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists. John Koffman was next in line with 7 points, 5 assists, 1 steal, and a block. Alex Leao also had 7 points and 5 boards. Jason Kehr had 2 steals, 1 assist, 1 point, and a rebound. Josiah Carstens chipped in 5 points and 3 assists. Jonathan Pefley had 3 points and 2 boards. Toby McGrath had 2 points and 7 boards. Daniel Passarelli had 2 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist. Joel Kehr had 2 points and a rebound. Michael Owens chipped in with 3 boards.
It was a tough game, but the Warriors never gave up and their Christ-like character shined through the entire game.
