With three players (John Koffman, Jonathan Pefley, and Michael Pefley) out sick, the Warriors traveled east to Westminster to take on the Carroll Christian School Patriots.
The Warriors game started slow, with the guys not really playing with any energy. At the end of the 1st quarter the Warriors were down 24-5. The 2nd quarter had a little more energy, but no one’s shots were falling consistently, leaving the Warriors down 30-16 at half.
The 2nd half saw the Warriors pumped and ready to bring the game back in their favor. They cut the lead down to 12 at the end of the 3rd quarter, and then to only 4 points at some point in the 4th. But the tight defense and quick offense of the Patriots combined with the off shooting of the Warriors couldn’t bring them a win. The final score was 53-40.
Toby McGrath led the team with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist, and a block. Josiah Carstens had 11 points and 4 assists. Chris Leao had 6 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal, and a block. Alex Leao had 2 points and 4 boards. Daniel Passarelli contributed 3 points, 1 board, 1 assist, 1 steal, and a block. Joel Kehr had 2 points, 1 assist, and a rebound. Michael Owens contributed 3 points and a steal.
It was a rough game, and the guys really missed not having John, Jonathan, and Michael. But they never gave up and never portrayed less than Christ-like character the whole game. Good job guys!
