Monday Jan 22 our middle schoolers headed for Adams County Christian Academy. The weather reports were calling for a storm later that evening but it seemed as if one hit the court early. This was a hard fought game with both teams playing strong. The first quarter saw a tie score of 6 - 6 when Daniel Passarelli hit a 3 pointer which seemed to set things in motion for the Warriors. The 13 - 6 lead for the Warriors at the end of the first quarter would prove valuable. The remaining 3 quarters saw both teams scoring pretty evenly with the Warriors gaining by only one shot each quarter. The Warriors came out on top with a 43 - 31 victory.
Some highlights from the game were an accurate 2 point shot sunk by Benjamin Passarelli, a game ending surge by Daniel Messenger who had 2 steals and a 2 pointer in the final moments of the game. Points were also scored by John Koffman, who lead with 18 points which included 2 for 2 at the foul line, Chris Lamont for 8 ( despite heavy defense toward him ) , Daniel Passarelli with 7, Caleb Abel scoring 4 and Joel Kehr for 2. Caleb Abel again strong on the rebound with a total of 8 offensive and defensive, Chris Lamont and Joel Kehr both for total (offensive and defensive ) rebounds 5 each. Others adding to the rebound count were Koffman, Joannides, Wright and D. Passarelli. All players had an opportunity to contribute to this victory seeing time on the courts which continues to build a strong sense of team between these young men. Another highlight worth mentioning was the home team's mascot - Ram - who made an appearance at half time.
The team continues to excite the fans with a record of 7 - 1. The next game, Sat 1/23 against the Front Royal Flames at New Life Christian School.
GO WARRIORS!
