Senior Day - VG
Senior Night was a highly anticipated matchup between the Frederick Warriors and the Front Royal Flames. The Warriors last played the Flames in Lyncburg, Virginia at the HSPN basketball tournament in March. The Warriors won that game to come in third in their bracket. The matchup on Saturday was looked forward to by both teams.
Starting off, the Warriors came out strong and controlled the first and second quarter of the game. It was a game that kept the Lady Warriors on their toes but also allowed them to work the ball patiently into position and run their plays. Second half action saw the opportunity for multiple subs to get court time.
The game continued to be dominated by aggressive defense and solid offensive play by the Warriors. Every Lady Warrior got time to play and helped to contribute to the win on Saturday afternoon.
Rebecca Reifsnider led the team in rebounds with 11, Kathryn Romanchuk came off the bench and raked in 5 rebounds and fellow teammate Krista Duke pulled in 4. Charity Poole had 5 assists and Liz Catoe had 3. Rachel Joannides and Charity Poole both had 5 steals for the night and Kathryn Romanchuk had 2.
The final score was Warriors 50 and the Flames 30. Rebecca Reifsnider and Charity Poole were highlighted after the game with thoughts shared by themselves, their parents and Coach Barry. It was a great game to honor our seniors.
