New Life - MSG

The Middle School Girls took on the Lady Rams on Thursday, January 14th. It was an early start time and the Lady Warriors seemed to start off slowly as well although they did pick up momentum as the game progressed.  At the end of the first quarter, the Warriors were down by one.  Second quarter action found the Warriors tied with the Rams going into halftime.  Joanna Hughes had 9 of the first half points with Michaela Joannides putting up one free throw to bring the Warriors to a halftime total of ten.
The second half of the game proved to be even more exciting than the first.  After the third quarter the Warriors had pushed their way into the lead by 3 points.  And during the fourth quarter the Warriors lit up the scoreboard with 12 points added to their column while holding the Rams to only one deuce.  The crowd went wild as Kara Brown made her first career basket.  Leading the team in rebounds was Joanna Hughes with 12 and Kirsten Blickenstaff was right behind her scooping up 10 rebounds.
Jackie Lamont had 8 steals for the night! That is a current team record for the season. The Lady Warriors played hard as they took the contest 26 - 13 . Special thanks to assistant coaches: Emma Matthews, Kathryn Romanchuk and Gabrielle Freese for being there to cheer their teammates on to a victory.
