It's always a tough night at St. James School in St. James, MD. The basketball there is fast and physical. Monday night was no exception. The Warriors came out strong and sure and took an early lead. But the Saints rallied and at halftime the Warriors were down by a deuce.
Third quarter action with a key three by Charity Poole allowed the Warriors to pull ahead by 3, but the Saints were breathing heavy down their necks the entire game. The Warriors played hard, never giving up. Foul trouble allowed the Saints to pull into the lead and eventually take the game 51 to 46.
Stats for the night: Rebecca Reifsnider led in rebounding with 9, Rachel Joannides had 7 and Sarah Reifsnider pulled down 6 rebounds. Liz Catoe had 6 assists and 4 steals during the game. Rebecca Reifsnider blocked 5 shots for the night.
The Warriors take on the Saints again next week....same time...same channel. They'll be ready for round two of play!
