Last Monday, the Warriors took on the Saints from St. James and went home with a loss. Seven days later, the Warriors looked to be a different team as they took the floor Monday night. First quarter action found the Warriors with multiple break away points and employing a strong defense. At one point the Warriors were up by as many as 9 points.
The Lady Warriors played aggressive defense and worked hard on every possession. The Saints however, were not going away easily and at half time they had tied the score at 19. The second half of the game would be the test as to who would come away with the W. The Warriors came out from the locker room with determination on their faces. They mid court trapped and pressured the ball each time the Saints had a possession.
On offense they ran their plays and looked for openings down in the paint. Rebounding both offensively and defensively they made the most of every trip down the floor. Their hard work and patience paid off as the Warriors captured a signiture win over the Saints 45 to 38. Rachel Joannides and Rebecca Reifsnider controlled the boards on rebounds with 10 and 8 respectiviely.
Liz Catoe and Rachel Joannides each had 3 assists for the night and Charity Poole had 2. Steals created many opportunities for the Warriors to score during the match and Rachel Joannides nabbed 8 of those. Sarah Reifsnider also had sticky fingers and took 4 balls from the hands of the Saints. Liz Catoe and Rebecca Reifsnider each had 3 steals for the night. Rebecca Reifsnider, Sarah Reifsnider and Ana Blickenstaff each had 1 block during th game.
