ACCA - MSG
Gettysburg was the setting for the second meeting of the Frederick Warriors and the Adams County Rams. The Middle School girls tipped off at 4:30 and played efficiently against a very good shooting Adams County team. At the end of the first half the score was tied at 6. During the second half, the Warriors scored 25 points. They worked the ball in to the paint, efficiently using their passes to score. Foul shooting for the night was 53 %. The girls hit 8 out of 15 shots taken at the charity stripe. Emma Matthews was 4 for 4.
Kathryn Romanchuk led the team in rebounds with 11 for the night. Gabrielle Freese followed with 6 rebounds. Jackie Lamont nabbed 3 steals and additionally, three Warriors had 2 steals for the night. They were: Emma Matthews, Joanna Hughes and Gabrielle Freese.
The character of the girls was highlighted as there were hands offered throughout the game for assistance. As all good Middle School girl's games go, there were plenty of jumpballs called and for each tangle on the floor, our girls helped their opponents to their feet with smiles and kindness. They continually showed good sportsmanship throughout the contest. The final score for the night was 31 to 21 in favor of the Warriors.
