Faith - VG

"Take me Home Country Road"....was the song the Varsity Girls were singing after Tuesday's game in Martinsburg, WV.  Everyone was ready to head home after a tough contest against Faith Christian Academy.  It seemed they were just getting started when the Warriors lost key player, Rebecca Reifsnider early in the first quarter with a sprained ankle.  The team stepped up however and worked hard to make up the points deficit they found themselves in.
The Falcons were tall and had a great inside presence.  This made shots tough.   Rachel Joannides played hard bringing down an amazing 14 rebounds for the night. Maggie Quick gave good minutes during the game and pulled in 7 rebounds.
The Lady Warriors had to work hard with every possession to convert it into points.  Questionable refereeing only added to the frustration that the Warriors were facing.  It was a game where the character of the Warriors really shone through.  They never gave up, working until the final buzzer sounded.  Liz Catoe had 3 assists for the night.
There were 12 steals for the Warriors as Liz Catoe, Rachel Joannides and Maggie Quick took advantage of every opportunity for a possession.  Despite all their hard work, the Warriors took a loss for the night with the final score 37-26.
