MACA - MSB

Our middle school boys traveled to Mt Airy Christian Academy for an afternoon game. The anticipation of strong competition was found to be correct! The starting line up of Abel, Wright, Lamont, Koffman and D. Passarelli faced tough opposition in the first quarter. Each of the 6 points scored were hard fought points. The Lions came up with 14 points in the first quarter. The Warriors found themselves in a spot they had not experienced this season , down by 8. The second quarter was also tough with the Warriors hitting for 7 points.  The score at the half 13 - 24. The Warriors pressed on and fans murmured about their resolve. The second half of the game the Warriors were matching the Lions in scoring but not enough to overtake the early lead of the Lions. The Warriors had amazing energy as the strategy for this game called for few subs. It never seemed as if the Warriors gave in or gave up, even to the final seconds of the game. The Warriors lost the game 34 - 45. Not the outcome hoped for but a great challenge for the team.

It is notable that in this game Chris Lamont was high scorer and high rebounder with a total of 12 points, 12 total rebounds and some other pretty good moves! John Koffman had 10 points, he added to the rebound count and had 5 steals - also with 5 steals was Caleb Abel who had a total of 8 rebounds. Daniel Passarelli contributed with points, assists, steals and yes of course . . . a 3 pointer. Nathan Wright also played an important part in the game with points, assists and a steal. Joel Kehr gave the few precious moments for others to catch their breath and while in the game hit a 3 pointer!

Good job Warriors - It was quite a game - you played it well.
